ท่ามกลางอากาศหนาวเย็นและโปรยปรายด้วยฝนพอชุ่มฉ่ำ พี่น้องชาวไทยจากทุกสารทิศ รวมตัวกัน ณ หน้าประตูบรันเดนบวร์ก แลนด์มาร์คอันทรงพลังของกรุงเบอร์ลิน เพื่อร่วมจุดเทียนถวายความสำนึกในพระมหากรุณาธิคุณของสมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ พระบรมราชินีนาถ พระบรมราชชนนีพันปีหลวง
ทุกคนแต่งชุดไว้ทุกข์ตามความเหมาะสม สุภาพสตรีหลายท่านแต่งชุดผ้าไหมพระราชนิยมสีดำ เพื่อแสดงออกถึงพระราชกรณียกิจด้านผ้าไทยของพระองค์
มองดูสองมือของทุกท่าน มือหนึ่งถือเทียนไฟฟ้าแสงเหลืองเป็นเปลวเทียนสว่างไสว มืออีกข้างถือพระฉายาลักษณ์
ทุกท่านมาด้วยใจและความรู้สึกถึงชาติไทยของเรา นี่เป็นสิ่งที่คนไทยในต่างแดนอย่างประเทศเยอรมนีได้แสดงออกอย่างเปิดเผย
ไม่ใช่เพียงพี่น้องชาวไทยเท่านั้น ชาวเยอรมนีหัวใจไทยจำนวนมากก็มาร่วมในพิธีนี้

Amidst the cold weather and a light, dampening rain, Thai people from all directions gathered at the Brandenburg Gate, the powerful landmark of Berlin, to light candles in remembrance of the profound grace of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother of Thailand.
Everyone wore mourning attire as appropriate. Many ladies wore the Silk Chud Thai in black, symbolizing Her Majesty's royal contributions to Thai textiles.
Gazing at everyone's hands, one hand held an electric yellow candle, its light shining brightly, while the other held a portrait of Her Majesty.
Everyone came with their hearts and a deep feeling for our Thai nation. This is a public demonstration by the Thai community in Germany.
It was not only Thai nationals, but also many German people with Thai hearts who joined this ceremony.
